Intoxicate Studios is a studio that brings together ambitious, young creators, who have a real passion and dedication and have been working for months to create an exciting and unique experience in the Afterfall world. Thanks to the opportunity given by NEG they will be able to really peruse their dream project.
The studio remains creatively independent and is working on the project without pressure from the producer or publisher.
Nicolas Games began in 2004 as a small publishing company working mainly with minor producers of adventure games, strategy titles for hardcore players and some children’s games; it has also published games for Macintosh as well as the PC platform. However, among those titles, a few shining stars had emerged – productions such as the series of Runaway, Half-Life 2 and Sins of the Solar Empire.
In 2009 NEG acquired the studio working on Afterfall. Intoxicate Studios was provided with the means and freedom to work on its project, which in the April of 2010 began taking shape and was announced to be utilizing the Unreal 3 engine under the working title of Afterfall: InSanity. From then on we have been working diligently to prove that it is possible for a small studio without much experience to create a truly great game.
Tomasz Majka – Executive Producer
For 14 years involved in the games industry. Founder, the majority stockholder, president of the management board of Nicolas Games. Shareholder, president of the management board of IntoXicate Studios. Afterfall: InSanity’s Executive producer. Earlier, sales director of one.pl (branch OPM – play it). For 7 years executive posts in tobacco industry (Rothmans of Pall Mall, Japan Tabacco, RJ Reynolds).
Maciej Izworski – Creative Director
IntoXicate Studios’ level designer and creative director. Co-author of games set in the Afterfall universe. In the meantime, a designer in City Interactive. Game’s mechanics specialist. For more than ten years fan of the virtual entertainment market, for 4 years professionally engaged in the field.
Krzysztof Fornalczyk – Lead Artist
For 6 years working as a freelancer. An experienced graphic artist who worked on short films, tv commercials, and other projects (e.g. board games). Held functions of 2D artist, concept artist, storyboarder, matte painter, etc… Collaborated, among others, with Platige Image, Orka, Osmo. Aviation enthusiast.
Przemysław Barkowiak – Lead Programmer
A high voltage power electronics engineer and a programmer by trade. Started as a designer and programmer of embedded systems, then worked on implementing Digital Signage systems in Poland and Asia, to finally find his true passion at Nicolas Games, where he was most often promoted programmer. Currently programming in InoXicate Studios. Playing video games, training material arts and taking first steps on motorcycle racetracks in free time.
Paweł Ryszka – Level Designer
A University of Silesia in Katowice graduate. Working for 2 years in the field. Level designer at Afterfall: InSanity.
Aleksander Przewoźniak – Junior Technical Artist / Modeler
A computer science student at University of Silesia in Katowice. For 2 years in game development industry. Junior level designer at Afterfall: InSanity.
Oskar Maleszko – Level Designer
In game industry for 7 years, working as a Level Designer, Game Designer and Quality Assurance Tester. Currently Level Designer at Intoxicate Studio.
Rafał Januszkiewicz – Visual Effects Specialist
Game Production and Toolset Specialist, Game Art and Graphic Designer with 17 years gamedev experience.
