Valorant Eyes the Competitive Landscape HomeGamerValorant eyes the competitive landscape
Valorant has just released and has the competitive landscape in mind. Find out what’s coming.
Riot Games has made it clear that the focus of its new product is on competition. However, getting into the shooter scene is a big challenge as the modalities already have big established names, such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
CS:GO has absolute dominance in modality, reaching audiences that are currently virtually impossible to reach. This base took years to build, which gives Valve, the game’s developer, some reassurance in the face of the new competitor.
Still, Valorant has good hints of novelty in its gameplay, trying to claim its own space and not just be another shooter among so many. Of course, Riot’s experience with League of Legends will be put to the test, but the company knows it has this weapon and is ready to use it.
Riot Games’ plan to get there
Riot released some competitive rules for the game [para ler clique aqui] still in the beta phase, which will continue to serve even after the release of the game. Therefore, in the rules, the intention was to make Valorant a competitive game and put the company in events organized at different levels.
- The first tier consists of singles tournaments focused on the amateur community, with a maximum prize pool of up to $10,000.
- Championships featuring amateur ads, influencers, or smaller brands with prizes up to $50,000.
- And the majors, controlled by organizers and big companies, which will be the most important tournaments.
The document also establishes rules for the behavior of broadcasts, narration and the behavior of brands in official tournaments. All this to give a serious face and accelerate the professionalization of the future linked to the competitive events of the game.
Riot has yet to release Valorant’s main tournaments, but from what we’ve been able to track, that’s all that’s left to set the stage for the game’s entry onto the competitive scene. The number of influencers supporting the FPS is very promising, and there are already several teams interested in creating professional teams for the game. Now we just have to wait and see if the scenario will take well to this new remarkable little thing.
